RANGER'S ROSE 7

Date of Birth:
4/10/2007
Nickname:
Rose
Sex:
Female
Owner Name:
NATHAN MURRAY
Breeder:
GARY AND DORTHIE KELLEY, JR.
Notes:
This pretty lady was the very first longhorn to graze the pastures at Murray Ranch. She has quite the personality - commanding attention and continually reinforcing the fact that she is in charge of the pasture. The other girls are more than willing to let Rose be the leader. She has not led them astray yet - well, maybe once when they followed her into the neighbor's pasture after a gate had been left open. But, everyone has a little Oops every once in a while. Rose's pedigree is not one to be taken lightly. Her lineage can be traced back to include the infamous Doherty 698 and Droop Horn, dam of Superior. During the late 70's and early 80's embryo transfer programs, both Doherty 698 and Droop Horn were included in an elite group of eighty-seven donor cows, and were considered to be two of the top eighty-seven cows in the nation. Quite impressive. Rose's dam, Miss Intuition's pedigree includes Phenomenon, also a result of embryo transfer during that period of time - Doherty 698 X Superior. Rose clearly has similarities to Doherty 698 in body style and her twisty horns are beautiful. Rose came to Murray Ranch pregnant with an unregistered heifer calf. Clementine quickly became a welcome addition to another family's longhorn herd, and has recently given birth to her first calf. This spring Murray Ranch is pleased to present Stella Rose, a beautiful Rose progeny that was born April 2019. She is beautifully marked and will no doubt possess the same wonderful personality as her mother. Her sire, Alpha Switchback's impressive pedigree includes such names as Annex, Willow Switch, Drag Iron, and Jester. Murray Ranch looks forward to enjoying many years to come with Stella Rose, following in the foot steps of her mother grazing these pastures and making history of her own at Murray Ranch. Stay tuned.
